DARIO MARASCO'S PROJECT
DARIO MARASCO
Covered Bench at Recreation ParkEconomy Borough had previously installed playground equipment for the community. Before his project, there was no shade for families. So Dario decided to build a two-sided covered bench at the Park on Recreation Drive. The bench complements the playground equipment for families to be able to rest in the shade.

Food Pantry ShelvingNick removed the inadequate shelving from the Food Pantry of the Baden United Methodist Church. He then proceeded to built new shelves to support the large amounts of food that the pantry stores. This has helped the pantry store more food to feed the needy in the area.

Flagpole Restoration and Plaque MountingEvan restored an old flagpole that was donated to the Baden American Legion Post 641. The pole was prepared and mounted next to the flag retirement unit at the Legion. In addition, he collected donations and purchased plaques of the branches of the military to mount to the flag retirement unit. Various landscaping was also done in the immediate vicinity, including spreading fresh mulch.

HAYDEN PENN'S PROJECT

Worship and Vespers AreaHayden created a small group worship/vespers area with seating for 16 people for Concord Presbyterian Church. The area was cleared of overgrown brush, trees and debris, and made level. Holes were dug for the benches and pulpit, and a path was cut. Benches were built and set in concrete and 20 tons of gravel was spread. The path was lined and plantings were placed around the site. The area will be used for Sunday school, youth group meetings and quiet individual prayer.

Paint refurbishing Baden Lion's ClubJustin refurbished the exterior of the Baden Lion's Club building and storage shed. The exterior of the building was sanded and all old paint chips removed. He used a power washer to clean the exterior of dirt and grim. A primer was used for all the surfaces. A new coat of paint was applied to the building. A fresh topcoat and darker trim paint were applied for the desired contrast to the wall surfaces. The metal doors and railing received new metal primer to take care of the rust. The old storage shed was treated with fresh paint. All work performed for the Baden Lion's Club Park Association.

MICHAEL DESCHAINE
Operation Safety Net's Streets to HomesMichael collected supplies to establish households for the homeless. He also coordinated moving days to deliver the household items. Michael was able to help 21 households. Operation Safety Net is a program of the Pittsburgh Mercy Health Systems.

The Hill CemeteryGrant straightened and repaired most of the broken stones in the cemetery, installed a new lightbulb by the flagpole, built a sitting area by the flagpole, repainted a historical sign (not shown) and installed a sign detailing the cemetery.

The Flag Ceremonial Retirement UnitRyan constructed a permanent structure to honorably retire the flags of the United States of America. This structure was made with brick and block on a concrete pad with eight sides. The area around the unit has been landscaped, stone pavers were placed around it for walking, and there is also a small retaining wall to keep everything in place. This structure was designed for the Baden American Legion Post 641.
