We are getting close to our 3nd annual blood drive for Troop 405. I want to encourage all involved with Troop 405 to get as many people registered to donate as possible. The blood collected at our drive will serve our local hospitals!! There is a critical shortage so please ask EVERYONE to help and donate!!

Well, its that time of year again and I’m talking about the annual “Court of Honor and Family Dinner”. This iconic event will also honor our own Nick McClure as he receives his Eagle Scout awards. Nick was a long time scout of troop 405 and one of our top Senior Patrol Leaders. Recognition will be given to the scouts of Troop 405 for their achievement’s in 2011.

What: Court of Honor and Family Dinner

When: Sunday, February 12, 2012 – 5 PM

Where: St. John’s Church Social Hall, Baden, Pa

Who: All scouts and their families (parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents and friends)

Why: We love our scouts and we want to recognize their achievements

Cost: Boy Scouts and children $4.00/Adults and Scouters $5.00

Action: Your scout was given a form to fill out to make reservations. Fill out the bottom of the form or print one off and return by mail or give to Mr. Jay Hrusko 724-630-3908, 3821 Watson Street, Baden, PA 15005..
If you did not receive a registration form, you can print it here (downloads as PDF).

Dated Event: Dinner reservations MUST be paid by February 4, 2012. Scout account may be used for payments.

History: The Court of Honor and Family Dinner is the highest attended event held by Troop 405 year after year. “I guess we know how to throw a party”. Quote from Mr. Watson “Duke” McGaughey who has been around as long as the Giant Redwood Trees.

At Summer Camp this year, the Calling Out ceremony for our Troop’s Order of the Arrow candidates was conducted. Congratulations goes to the following Scouts for their OA candidacy:

Hayden Penn
Nick McClure
Dario Marasco
Nick Van Dyke
Eric Finkelstein
Grant Miller Jr.

Congratulations also goes to Mr. Mike Penn for his selection as our Order of the Arrow Troop Representative.

To complete induction into the Order of the Arrow, all candidates must attend an Ordeal Weekend. Dates for this year’s events are as follows:

Heritage Fall- Sept 23-25, 2011
Anawanna – Oct 21-23, 2011
Twin Echo – April 20-22, 2012
Heritage Spring-May 18-20, 2012

There is a $44.00 charge for the Ordeal Weekend. See Mr. Larson to sign up for the weekend of your choice.

Boy Scout Troop 405 is located in Baden, PA. We believe in the scouting program and values, and with over 80 years of service we believe that we have one of the best programs within the Beaver Valley District of the Greater Pittsburgh Council.
